RAB: Effect in book 7

The biggest cliffhanger we were left with at the end of book six was the mystery around the character RAB. This has received enormous amounts of attention from the HP faithful and most have come to the conclusion of Regulus Black. Whether or not this is true or not, that is not for me to discuss. Rather, I shall discuss that whomever RAB may be, how they will come into play in the outcomes of book 7.

All we know for sure about RAB is that he/she knew Voldemort in the past and undertook the task of finding the Horcruxes. They found the locket, replaced in with a fake, and intended to destry the real one if they could. This gives us quite little to work qith in regards to their effect in book 7, but lets see what we can shell out.

Harry already mentioned that he intendeds to find RAB in his horcrux hunt, so we can be sure that at least the memory of RAB will affect the story. Whether Harry finds out who it is or not remains to be seen. There is every chance that RAB is long dead, but that doesn’t mean that finding out who they are won’t help Harry.

Perhaps RAB knew more about Voldemort than most would think. It is not 100% clear what each Horcruz is, but maybe RAB knew. Even if they’re dead, they could have left a message behind informing whoever it may concern the key to defeating Voldemort. Maybe RAB is the most powerful weapon left in the fight againt the Dark Lord

My Theory:

I think RAB is indeed Regulus Black and is long dead. However, I think he may have left behind a message for anyone who wishes to destory Voldemort that Harry will have to look for. I think it will lead Harry to the locket and perhaps shed some light on the currently unknown Horcruxes. I do not believe Harry nor any other character will come in contact with a physical RAB.
