Is it really an impossible job for our boy wizard, Harry potter to destroy the remaining Horcruxes of the most evil sorcerer of all- Voldemort (I mean He who must not be named).
Well, It is for me to discuss. I assume that most of us had already watched Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible III (to tell you the truth I haven’t watched it yet). I havent continued the third part of my ”Love is in the Air columns, but look at me now, I am starting a new topic.
It has been a long time since I wrote ”Love is in the Air II”, right. It has been almost a month. I was busy last month because I am taking care of my aunt in the hospital because she was diagnosed with Leukemia…...hu…hu…hu.
Okay, that’s enough… As we all know, the trio should be able to kill and destroy Voldemort before he spread darkness in the wizarding world. But killing Voldie is a really big deal. Besides the fact that he has regained his body (thanks to Peter), he has also several horcruxes that will surely give him immortality.
We have seen how Tom Marvolo Riddle sacrificed his muggle father and grandparents only to have his dream of living forever. We also read how afraid and scared the witches and wizards are, that no one even dared to speak his name. In short, they are all living in the mercy of Voldemort.
First of all, what are horcuxes? According to mugglenet, the etymology of the word horcrux seems to be this: a combination of “hors” from the French “dehors” meaning outside and “crux” meaning “essence.” Thus, a Horcrux is a device for keeping your soul (the essence) outside your body.
As we read book 6, Professor Slughorn has impressed on us that having a horcrux is immoral, because no one should sacrifice the life of other people to be able to gain this very dark magic. From this, we can notice that voldemort was dark enough, having sacrifice more than five people to have his dream of having 7 horcruxes.
Death is one of the things that Voldemort is afraid most, that is why he risked almost everything…even his soul. This makes him not vulnerable when the Avada Kedabra curse has rebounded of him. Eventhough his body was destroyed, he still survived, the thing that other witches and wizard can not do if they experienced the same thing.
According to Dumbledore’s theories, there maybe 6 horcuxes that Voldie made before the Potter disaster. They are listed hereunder:
1. The Gaunt Ring (DESTROYED)
2. Riddle’s Diary (DESTROYED)
3. Nagini, the snake
4. Slytherin’s Locket, stolen by R.A.B (which some have speculated is the locket that wouldn’t open from the glass cabinet in Book Five)
5. Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup
6. An item of Rowena Ravenclaw’s or an item of Godric Gryffindor’s.
an lastly, the piece of his soul that stayed in his body.
The 6th horcrux is a little bit unclear to us all, because of the fact that this two hogwarts founder are both wise. I think that thay will never ever allow their things to be used in evil. The Sorting Hat and Godric’s sword are all safe, and only true Gryffindors can take it. Also, Rowena Ravenclaw is a wise lad, surely, she left her things in their proper places.
This left me only one conclusion,,,,,,,,that the last horcrux is no other than
Harry Potter. Dumbledore keeps saying Voldemort left some part of himself in Harry the night he tried to kill him, perhaps this is part of his soul. Besides, Harry exhibit some traits that only voldemort can do, like being parselmouth and having a muggle parent.
If this will happen, what will Harry do? If he wanted Voldemort to die, then he should also die. That will be a very tragic incident.
Well i think that that is the time when the Phoenix thing should came. A phoenix is a symbol of rebirth and purity. It also defies love and encouragement. Maybe somehow a very advanced magic will happen that can make harry strong to beat the odds. That is the power of love. Love for your friends and love for your parents. And with the help of Hermione and Ron, they will be strong. Let us not forget that within the 6 years of Harry’s stay in Hogwarts, he has experienced and survived very dangerous things that other witches and wizards can not even survived.
