Emma Watson Empire

It isn’t quite as glamourous as hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, but Emma Watson who plays Hermione Graner in the harry potter films, has secured a place at Bedales School in Hampshire. Emma, 16, is moving from an Oxford day school to the famously liberal-minded boarding school to do her A-levels, and I am told, this was her second attempt to gain admission before finding a place there. While she wont have lessons in potions, charms or herbology, there have been spooky goings-on around the £25 000 a year public school, alma mater of Viscount Linley, Minnie Driver and Daniel Day-Lewis. The ‘mountain road’ up a hillside behind the school vanished after a landslip, cutting off the sixth formers from one of their favourite pubs, the Trooper. And, by coincidence, housed nearby is another Harry Potter star – the owl that plays Draco Malfoy’s pet in the J.K Rowling blockbusters. Just the other day there was a break-in at the aviary – although the Draco owl was not taken. Still, at this rate it sounds like Emma may need her Harry Potter skills in sleepy Hampshire after all.
