I'm sorry, for changing somthing that big without making a news. But I did for the German part, but I guess we have to find more responsable Tranlators for the staff.

So, it was a long way, I worked very hard on it and now:
EWE has its new Gallery  System.

Here is a short list of what has changed:

1. The Categry system (with over 1000 categories) was changed to a more clear Tag system. So, waht does this mean?
   We have keywords, which you can click at (see the gallery main page) or search for (in combination).
2. The Galleries aren't just Imagegalleries anymore, they are Mediagalleries: We have Videos, Images, Documents and Audios. (To be able to tell the Mediatypes apart, while viewing an media overview, we use some small icons which overlay the thumbnails.)
3. You can search directly for mediatypes by clicking at the small lagend at the main page of the Gallery.
4. You can seach the gallery, so you can combine the keywords (tags).
5. A lot of our sources asked for it: So we introduced a small "Credits" field, which gives the moderators the ability to tell the public, where they got the media from.
6. Moderators can write descriptions for all media files. (They can alsoinclude links to related news or EWE pages.)
7. A lot of people asked for it: A small image before you see the original sizeof it (some pictures are just too big, so you can'tget an overview.) So in case you see lens under an image you can click at it to see the original size.
8. There is a "Link for this page" box: Copy the content and you can create a link with the thumbnail to the media page you are currently viewing.
9. Like there are mediatypes, we got imagetypes: There are four diffrent image qualities you can search for (by clicking at the small icons in the gallery main page): Wallpaper, Wide Screen Wallpaper, High Res, Avatars/AIMs
10. You can view and hear videos and audios directly within the browser.
11. Finally implemented: Every image has a Previews Images and a Next Image, so you can click through the media without going back to the media overviews.
12. A very new feature,which you will love, when you are back from holiday: You can list all image uploads of a certain date, so you will never miss a newly uploaded image.
13. The popularity of a keyword can be seen in the tag cloud.
14. The Gallery is able to fetch same images: So this gallery will never have the same picture twice.

I hope you will like the new gallery system. Of course it is diffrent. But finally you have the downloads you ever wanted, you have a better view for big images. You are able to sort images by date…

PS.
It was a lot of time I spend working on this system. I will not set the old system online again! (But I'm happy about every good recommendation for improvements.)
