Is Dumbledore Dead?

IS DUMBLEDORE DEAD?
Is our favorite teacher, mentor, and hero truly gone? Has the greatest, wisest wizard of all time passed on? Well, that’s what I’m here to discuss.

DEAD
Well, we can accept what is given to us in the obvious, that he is really dead. I mean, Dumbledore and Harry got up to the Astronomy tower. They heard someone coming, and Dumbledore immobilized Harry, who was under his invisibility cloak. Draco Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore. Then, well, you know about how everyone came and all the jazz. Snape arrived cried out Avada Kedavra, and there goes Dumbledore. I’d like to point out that, as Harry himself knew, that Harry was able to move again because Dumbledore was dead. Now, I was thinking, “But what about Dumbledore’s wand less magic?” I mean, obviously he’s have a limited amount of power without his wand, but surely he could have summoned his wand back to him, But, fast forward a bit to Snape’s encounter. Dumbledore was begging from Snape, but it’s not exactly clear about what he was begging for in particular. All he said was, “Severus, please…” Now, would you expect someone who said, “To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure,” to be begging for his life? I think not. So what was he begging for? Perhaps for Snape to end his own life, so Harry could fight alone. I mean, if Snape really didn’t kill Dumbledore, don’t you think someone else would’ve known (like McGonagall or Harry)?

ALIVE
Well, let’s observe the facts of what happened to support this theory. True, when Snape cast Avada Kedavra on Dumbledore, Dumbledore was thrown into the air. Not the typical effect of Avada Kedavra, right? Now, it could’ve been that Snape was feeling strong emotions at the time and overshot, maybe not. What could’ve happened is that when Snape said Avada Kedavra out loud, he really could’ve said a nonverbal spell in his head at the same time, and cast a different spell. Lastly, we really don’t want to believe that our favorite adult is really gone.

MY FIRST THEORY
Really, a friend and I put this theory together. She’ll remain unnamed, but if she reads this, I give her credit too! So, Dumbledore somehow cast a spell on himself to give the illusion that he is dead (or maybe a potion, like in Romeo and Juliet?). Now, my friend said that she thought maybe Dumbledore was an animagus. We thought that his animagus must’ve been a phoenix. Well, does everyone remember at the funeral when Harry thought he saw a phoenix burst into flame when the tomb was enclosed over Dumbledore? What if the phoenix was Dumbledore? I know this theory has some gaping holes, but it’s possible.

MY SECOND THEORY
This theory just came to me recently. What if what appeared to be Dumbledore was killed, but it was really someone who had drunk polyjuice potion? I’m thinking if this happened, it could’ve been Aberforth Dumbledore. Then Dumbledore went into hiding. Absolutely no one would know he was still alive. Then, perhaps he could guide Harry from afar, but still let Harry defeat Voldemort alone and not interfere with the terms of the prophecy. After Voldemort is defeated, Dumbledore could reveal himself again.
